What We’ve Achieved Together

As we enter the second half of 2025, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the progress we’ve made and the challenges we continue to navigate together. In spite of growing global economic pressures, our programme remains active, impactful, and resilient – thanks to our excellent local team, our partners, and most importantly, your unwavering support.
Empowering Lives, Shaping Futures
Our work continues to reach thousands of children and families. From life skills sessions (delivered to 1,737 children across Pokhara and Butwal) and inclusive sports coaching (benefiting over 2,500 students weekly) to community hubs and vocational training, we are equipping young people with the tools to thrive, including 657 children supported with essential educational materials to go to school. Community Strengthening events held at our hub spaces have included celebrations for Children’s Day, Environment Day, and festivals to foster inclusion and joy. The hubs have also hosted 16 parent support groups – all now engaged in regular learning sessions. Our Breaking Boundaries cricket programme continues to inspire, with over 2,000 children involved in regular cricket sessions, and the recent annual tournament attracted 600 children (300 boys and 300 girls) representing 20 schools.
Child Protection
We continue to make significant strides in child protection and advocacy. In Butwal, Child Rights Committees have been established and trained in every ward, whilst Pokhara has developed one of the country’s first Child Rights Strategies establishing a framework to address the most important issues facing children. On the ground, 172 street-connected and working children have been reintegrated with their families, and workplace monitoring continues to ensure the identification and removal of children as well as promoting safer conditions for young people.
🏏🏐 Sport as a Catalyst for Change
The success of our cricket programme has shown just how powerful sport can be for building resilience, confidence, and mental wellbeing. That’s why we’re now looking to engage schools, students, and youth communities here in the UK to help us raise awareness and funds for sports equipment in Nepal. Cricket and volleyball are hugely popular among children there – primarily because both require minimal kit and can be played in even the most basic settings. If your child’s, or grandchild’s, school or college would like to take part in a fund-raising event, organise a sports day, or invite us to speak about Kidasha’s work and impact, we’d love to hear from you.
Recent Fundraising Wins

On the fundraising front, we’ve had some truly heartwarming moments. Our BBC Radio 4 Appeal, beautifully presented by journalist and broadcaster Mary Nightingale, raised an incredible £50,000. The Pop Choir continues to lift spirits and donations with another performance at King’s Cross Station. And our incredible individual supporters have gone above and beyond – completing marathon runs in both London and Madrid, cycling 100+ miles of the South Downs Way, and with a Triathlon coming up at the end of August – all to help, protect and empower children.
💜 Help us keep up the good work!
Times continue to be incredibly difficult for the charity sector. The demand for services grows, yet the funding pool shrinks. We recognise that many of you are feeling the pinch too, and this only deepens our appreciation for your generosity. Community-led fundraising has never been more important. If you’re thinking about taking part in a challenge or hosting a fundraising event, do consider Kidasha as your charity of choice.
Securing funding from charitable trusts and foundations is still vital, but increasingly challenging. If you have contact with such an organisation, we would be grateful to hear from you – personal introductions can be transformative. Similarly, if your company is looking to align with a meaningful cause, we’d be thrilled to explore a partnership. Corporate support for Kidasha can make a lasting impact, and our Chief Executive, Janice Miller, would be delighted to present our work to your team, or any interested parties.
Last, but not least …
We’re delighted to welcome Karen Landles to our Board of Trustees. Karen brings a wealth of expertise in Public Sector communications and has worked closely with community charities across training, fundraising, and campaigning. Her insight will be invaluable as we continue to grow our impact and strengthen our community connections. As part of this ongoing journey, we’re looking to expand our Board further with more trustees who share our values and vision. If you’re passionate about community-led change, we’d love to hear from you – especially if you’re interest in getting involved with fundraising initiatives.
Sincere thanks for your continued interest and support.
